HITA TALK – CHamoru Orthography

The Guam Museum is honored to welcome Jimmy Teria, Co-chairperson of the CHamoru Heritage Commission or I Komision i Fino’ CHamoru yan i Fina’någuen i Historia yan i Lina’la i Taotao Tåno.  Having been reestablished for a year, the Kunision continues its mandate of developing the CHamoru orthography, while now additionally advising on historical accuracies within Chamoru History and culture.  Teria will share a brief history of the Kumision and the importance of the CHamoru orthography, and speak about their current projects and work surrounding CHamoru language practices and indigenous languages stategies.

The Museum Indoor Theater

Our indoor theater offers state-of-the-art audio/visual technology with a seating capacity of 156 guests in air-conditioned comfort. Our video projection system can accommodate any format for video presentations and our exceptional surround sound audio system can accommodate any format for audio presentations. The stage area also provides excellent opportunities for small theatrical and musical performances as well as lectures, panel discussions and formal presentations. Wireless and wired microphones, podium, lighting, and internet connectivity are also available. A technician can be made available to assist you. The theater has a separate access from the main museum hall and a small lobby space with restroom facilities. Food and beverages are not allowed in the indoor theater.
