Free Admission to the Guam Museum
for Guam Public Library Members
Hagåtña, Guam (1 September 2017) — The Guam Museum and the Guam Public Library System are coordinating to provide a special offer during the month of September. Deemed “Library Card Sign-up Month,” all Guam Public Library Card members are admitted free access to the Guam Museum exhibition September 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017 when they show their Guam Public Library member cards at the museum admissions desk.
Johnny Sablan, President of the Department of Chamorro Affairs, which has oversight of both agencies; “Collaboration efforts like this between the Guam Public Library and the Guam Museum encourage learning and expression in its many forms. We want to ensure that all our residents experience both facilities as centers of excellence for our culture, our history and traditions and our island heritage.”
The community is encouraged to sign up for a library card at their nearest library during this time, and enjoy the benefits of being a library card member, as well as access to the current exhibition, “Water/Ways” and “Hita i Hanom, We Are Water,” which is a joint exhibition presented by Humanities Guahan and the Smithsonian Institute, and which will be on display September through October 29, 2017. Members are also invited to attend public programs at the Guam Museum, which take place throughout the month.
