Farrell will be presenting, “The Reconstruction of Guam: 1944-1950” on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Guam Museum Indoor Theater. Farrell’s lecture will coincide closely with the anniversary of V-J Day, also known as Victory over Japan Day, or Victory in the Pacific Day, which is commemorated on September 2nd. V-J Day marks the surrender of Japanese Imperial Forces with the signing of the surrender document that officially ended World War II. Farrell will present his insights and historic photographs after the Japanese Occupation of Guam, the rebuilding period of the island as a staging ground for US military forces to end the war and the immediate postwar reconstruction. He hopes audience members will be able to help identify individuals in the archival photographs he will present.Multi-Purpose Room

Are they receiving unwanted messages on the Internet? Do they know someone who is hurting them at school? Let's help our kids know what to do to protect themselves. The Guam Museum, in partnership with the Guam Police Department, Guam Fire Department and the Office of the Attorney General, invites families to learn about personal safety in the home, school and online through interactive exercises and demonstrations that will help kids develop good habits for safety in the home and in the community.Families with children 5 to 10 years old can participate in our morning session from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.Families with children 11 to 14 years old can participate in our noon session from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.Each session will conclude with a Hafa Adai Pledge Ceremony for completing this months' Ha'anen Familia Life Lessons in Safety.Space is limited so call the Museum at
